Barclays did not sell 10.6 pct stake in PT Multimedia to CGD - source

LISBON (Thomson Financial) - Barclays Bank did not sell its 10.6 pct stake in PT Multimedia SGPS to Portuguese state-controlled bank Caixa Geral de Depositos, a source close to the matter said, denying Portuguese press reports.

Weekly Sol reported on Saturday, without citing a source, that CGD had acquired the 10.6 pct stake in PT Multimedia previously held by Barclays.

The source said Barclays had received an offer for the stake, but had not accepted it.
