RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A new manufacturing facility will create 181 jobs in Davidson County, Gov. Mike Easley said Monday.Arneg LLC, which makes refrigeration cases for retail and commercial outlets, plans to begin hiring in the fall when construction is completed. The project is a $20 million investment over five years, offering jobs with average annual salaries of more than $31,000 plus benefits.The company received a 9-year job development investment grant, offered by the state to new and expanding businesses and industrial projects.For each year the company meets required performance goals, the state will provide a grant equivalent to 60 percent of state personal income withholding taxes derived from the new jobs, according to Easley's office.The company could receive a maximum benefit of $931,000 from the grant over the 9-year period.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
