PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Inquirer announced Monday that its managing editor is leaving the paper for a job at a private investment firm in Connecticut.Anne Gordon, who also serves as a vice president of the newspaper's parent company, will be a partner at Dubilier & Co., of Stamford, Conn. The company said she will help buy and build media companies around the country.'I have joined Dubilier & Co. not only because it is time for me to chart my own course, but because I am convinced that innovative leadership in the world of media will make a difference in how journalists thrive in the years ahead,' Gordon wrote in a memo to staff.Gordon has directed day-to-day operations at The Inquirer for the past five years.Before being appointed managing editor in 2002, she served as the newspaper's deputy managing editor for arts and features.
