WASHINGTON (AP) - Drug maker Amgen Inc. paid Bates Capitol Group LLC $100,000 in the first half of 2007 to lobby the federal government, according to a recent disclosure form.The firm lobbied Congress on intellectual property and patent issues, according to the form posted online Aug. 13 by the Senate's public records office.Lesley Elliott, the former deputy chief of staff for the secretary of the Senate, is among those registered to lobby on behalf of Amgen.Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches.
