CHICAGO (AP) - Telephone and Data Systems Inc. said on Friday it has appointed accounting consultant Douglas Shuma as controller and senior vice president.Shuma, 46, will handle the telecommunications company's accounting, tax planning and internal controls and report to Chief Financial Officer Kenneth R. Myers.Shuma has served as vice president and controller for Baxter International Inc., and also worked at Caremark International Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, before starting his own accounting consultancy.TDS shares fell 18 cents to close at $65.07.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
