LOS ANGELES (AFX) - A Sea Launch Co. rocket carrying a commercial communications satellite failed Tuesday during launch operations aboard an oceangoing platform in the equatorial Pacific, the company said.The Boeing Co.-built NSS-8 satellite was intended for Netherlands-based SES New Skies.Details of what actually occurred were not immediately released.'The Sea Launch Zenit-3SL vehicle, carrying the NSS-8 satellite, experienced an anomaly today during launch operations. Sea Launch will establish a Failure Review Oversight Board to determine the root cause of this anomaly,' said a statement posted on the Web site of Long Beach, Calif.-based Sea Launch Co.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
