BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - The Agricultural Bank of China, one of the country's big-four state-controlled commercial banks, said operating profit in 2006 rose 37.04 pct to 58.1 bln yuan.The bank said its non-performing loan ratio at the end of 2006 was 2.73 percentage points lower than the 26.17 pct reported at the end of 2005.The bank said outstanding loans rose by 308.6 bln yuan from the beginning of 2006, while outstanding deposits rose 699.8 bln yuan from the start of 2006. It did not provide absolute figures.At the end of 2005, the bank's outstanding loans totaled 2.83 trln yuan, while the outstanding deposits stood at 4.04 trln yuan.(1 usd = 7.78 yuan)zachary.wei@xfn.com
