French Sept PPI up 0.4 pct from Aug, up 2.7 yr-on-yr

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - French producer prices rose 0.4 pct in September from August, statistics office Insee said.

Prices were up 2.7 pct year-on-year.

Economists surveyed by Thomson Financial News had expected producer prices to rise 0.3 pct month-on-month and 2.5 pct year-on-year as the result of base effects related to last year's fall in energy prices.

Excluding food and energy, producer prices rose 0.1 pct month-on-month and 1.8 pct year-on-year, Insee said.
