ANKARA (Thomson Financial) - The Turkish army Wednesday confirmed it had killed 15 Kurdish rebels in clashes near the Iraqi border.'It has been determined that 15 terrorists were rendered ineffective by helicopter gunships and other supporting fire,' statement on the army's web site said.It confirmed that three soldiers were killed in the clashes that erupted Monday in the Cudi mountains in Sirnak province, which borders Iraq.The Turkish army pounded Kurdish rebels near the Iraqi border for a second consecutive day yesterday, and Ankara warned that ties with Washington would suffer as long as the separatists enjoy sanctuary in northern Iraq.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.comafp/jagCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
