Polypore Intl. shares rise after stronger 3Q profits, full-year guidance |

BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - Shares of Polypore International Inc. rose Wednesday after the Charlotte, N.C.-based specialized microporous membranes developer reported third-quarter adjusted income of $5.2 million, or 13 cents a share, topping the mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial of 7 cents a share.Revenue for the period also beat Wall Street's consensus, rising 12% to $130.4 million with analysts, on average, estimating $121.3 million.Polypore said it expects full-year earnings of 44 cents to 48 cents a share on revenue of $500 million to $520 million. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial estimate, on average, full-year earnings of 33 cents a share on revenue of $509.4 million.Shares climbed 21.3% to $16.70 on volume of 172,500.
