HAMBURG (Thomson Financial) - Telecom companies Drillisch AG and United Internet AG are continuing to work on the takeover of Freenet AG, Thomson Financial News's partner agency dpa-AFX reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.The process will probably take until next year as United Internet is not interested in Freenet's losses carried forward, it added.'Therefore, there is no time pressure,' the sources said.Last September, United Internet formed a holding with Drillisch, a major shareholder of Freenet, to work together on a takeover.Media reports suggested that Drillisch is interested in the company's mobile business, while United Internet is planning to buy its broadband segment.christoph.steitz@thomson.commur /cs1/rwCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
