Helix Energy Solutions 3Q earns 88c vs 60c

NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Helix Energy Solutions reported late Wednesday third-quarter net income of $82.8 million, or 88 cents a share, up from $57 million, or 60 cents a share, a year earlier.

Revenue for the period rose to $460.6 million from $374.4 million.

The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for earnings of 80 cents a share on revenue of $438.4 million.

The Houston-based company forecast fourth-quarter earnings of 85 cents to $1.05 a share. Analysts are currently expecting $1 a share.

The stock closed the regular session at $46.25.
