Rambus third-quarter loss narrows |

SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Rambus Inc. late Wednesday reported a third-quarter net loss of $6.5 million, or 6 cents a share, versus a year-ago net loss of $22.6 million, or 3 cents a share.Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 fell 9.2% to $41.7 million.Total costs and expenses for the third quarter of 2006 were $71.7 million,which included $23.8 million of restatement and related legal expenses and$10.5 million of stock-based compensation, the Los Altos, Calif.-based maker of chip interface technologies and architectures said.'We have come through a very challenging time for the company with therestatement and the consequences of the stock options backdatinginvestigation,' said Harold Hughes, president and chief executive, in a statement.
