WASHINGTON (AP) - National City Corp. won federal approval to open nine bank branches, a government agency said Wednesday.The Treasury Department's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said in a weekly bulletin of regulatory activity that Cleveland-based National City's requests to open the new branches were approved Oct. 25.The branches will be located in: Des Plaines, Ill.; Palm Coast, Fla.; Wauconda, Ill.; Allendale, Mich.; Kentwood, Mich.; Stuart, Fla.; Jenison, Mich.; Vero Beach, Fla.; and Titusville, Fla.Shares of National City fell 3 cents in after-hours trading Wednesday to $24.22, after falling 18 cents to close at $24.25.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
