WASHINGTON (AP) - The executive vice president of the global services sector of Ecolab Inc. exercised options for 40,000 shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.In a Form 4 filed Tuesday with the SEC, C. William Snedeker reported he exercised the options Friday for $24.34 apiece and then sold all 40,000 shares on the same day for $47 and 47.01 apiece.Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.Ecolab, which provides cleaning and pest control services to the hospitality industry, is based in St. Paul, Minn.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
