ATHENS (Thomson Financial) - Greek shares were slighty higher in early afternoon quiet trade ahead of the New Year's holiday.At 1:00 pm, the ASE general index was 0.2 pct higher at 5,164.8. The blue chip index was flat at 2,745.4 with half of all blue chips completely unchanged. Mid caps rose 0.3 pct to 6,228.4 and small caps were little changed at 1,046.4.Advancers outnumbered decliners 123 to 82 while 118 were unchanged.Marfin Investment Group (MIG) rose 1.3 pct to 5.96 eur. It announced today that it has completed the acquisition of 66.67 pct of Serbian shopping mall chain Robne Kuce Beograd (RKB) from Verano Motors DOO.Hellenic Telecomms (OTE) grew 0.6 pct to 25.16 eur on continuing positive sentiment surrounding the stock after MIG called off its request for a special shareholders meeting.Electricity utility Public Power Corp jumped 2.9 pct to 35.92 eur after it detailed on Friday the contents of its discussion with Germany's RWE for a Memorandum of Understanding.The ASE will close at 3.00 pm local time today and re-open on Wednesday.Source: Euro2day.gr Newswirecheryl.novak@thomson.comcn/jlwCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
