Turkish trade deficit up by 13.6 pct |

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Turkey's trade deficit rose by 13.6 pct to 56.3 bln usd in the first 11 months of 2007 from 49.5 bln usd in the same period last year, the Turkish Statistics Institute said Monday.Imports increased by 21.5 pct to 153.7 bln usd, while exports rose by 26.6 pct to 97.4 bln usd between January and November, it said.In November alone, imports climbed by 28.8 pct to 16.6 bln usd and exports rose by 30.4 pct to 11.2 bln usd.Turkey's trade deficit was up by 19.8 pct in 2006, reaching 51.8 bln usd from 42.9 bln usd in 2005.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.comrwCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
