SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Motorola Inc. said Monday it has reached an agreement with Blackwood, N.J.-based Metrologic Instruments Inc. to settle outstanding patent disputes related to barcode scanning and mobile computing technology. The disputes date back to 2002.Under the settlement, the companies entered into a patent cross-license for a limited term, Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola said.Specific terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.Both Motorola's subsidiary, Symbol Technologies Inc., and Metrologic's subsidiaries are parties to the agreement, the company noted.Shares of Motorola were down 12 cents at $16.16.Katherine HuntkhCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
