Ameren gets new license for dam |

WASHINGTON (AP) - Utility firm Ameren Corp. on Friday won a new 40-year license from federal energy regulators for its 176-megawatt hydroelectric dam on Missouri's Osage River.The St. Louis-based company received the license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the dam, by Lake of the Ozarks.The license for the Osage River Hydroelectric Project allows for upgrades to existing water-powered generators and includes a fish protection plan and a plain to monitor erosion, FERC said in a prepared statement.Shares of Ameren fell 85 cents to close at $50.30 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
