LOS ANGELES (AP) - Commercial real estate services company CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. said Thursday it aims to become carbon-neutral by 2010 and plans to help clients reduce energy at properties it manages worldwide.The company said it is working with the Natural Resources Defense Council to introduce energy-saving measures at the buildings it manages and will discuss possible energy-saving practices with its clients.CB Richard Ellis, which manages 1.7 billion square feet of space around the globe, said it would be the first major commercial real estate services company to go carbon-neutral.The initiative reflects the growing demand for so-called green buildings from clients and employees, the company said.Energy use in buildings represents 40 percent of U.S. global warming emissions, according to the NRDC.Shares of CB Richard Ellis slipped 2 cents to $37.33 in morning trading.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
