EU sets March 1 inquiry deadline into Charterhouse buy of Pai Partners' Vivarte

BRUSSELS (AFX) - The European Commission said the deadline for its inquiry into UK investment fund Charterhouse's proposed acquisition of peer PAI Partners' 68 pct stake in clothing and footwear group Vivarte is set for March 1.

BRUSSELS (AFX) - The European Commission said the deadline for its inquiry into UK investment fund Charterhouse's proposed acquisition of peer PAI Partners' 68 pct stake in clothing and footwear group Vivarte is set for March 1.

PAI bought the stake at 40 eur a share in early 2004.

Vivarte, formally known as Groupe Andre, owns the Andre, La Halle, Caroll, and Minelli shoe fashion brands.
