Portuguese govt sees 2007 budget deficit at 3.3 pct of GDP |

LISBON (AFX) - Prime minister Jose Socrates said that his government has lowered its forecast for the 2007 budget deficit to 3.3 pct of GDP from the 3.7 pct initially forecast.Speaking in the Portuguese parliament, Socrates added that in 2008, the government expects to reduce the deficit to below 3 pct of GDP, in compliance with the European Union's Stability Pact.luis.morais@thomson.comlm/jsaCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
