UQM gets $1M boost in Air Force deal |

FREDERICK, Colo. (AP) - UQM Technologies Inc., which makes generators and electric motors, said Wednesday it won a $1 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to convert a pickup truck's conventional motor to electric power.The so-called contract supplement raises the total value of the deal to $2.83 million and extends the life of the contract to Nov. 30, 2008.Additional funds will be used for an extra vehicle test-bed and to further develop electronic motors and generators.The U.S. Air Force will test the controller in the all-electric pickup trucks.Shares of UQM traded flat at $4.35 in afternoon trading on the American Stock Exchange.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
