NEW YORK (AFX) - Eli Lilly and Co said it plans to invest an additional 50 mln usd in a global partnership to fight multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB).The pharmaceutical company said it brings its total investment in the project to 120 mln usd.The initiative aims to fund a multi-pronged strategy to increase the supply and availability of effective drugs for treating the disease; training for front-line health care workers; and efforts to focus global resources on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of MDR-TB.World TB Day will be marked on Saturday.newsdesk@afxnews.comwjCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
