OECD raises Hungary GDP forecasts, but says budget measures weighing on growth

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - The OECD raised its forecasts for Hungarian GDP

growth slightly, but said growth will still be well below its long-term average

this year and next because of the drastic measures needed to cut the country's

large budget deficit.

Euro zone March trade surplus 7.4 bln eur vs deficit 1.3 bln in Feb

BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - The euro zone posted a provisional unadjusted

trade surplus of 7.4 bln eur in March compared with a revised deficit of 1.3 bln

in February, EU statistics office Eurostat said.

Greek Q1 current account deficit widens by 924 mln eur to reach 9.011 bln eur

ATHENS (Thomson Financial) - The Greek current account deficit grew by 924

mln eur year-on-year in the first quarter of 2007 reaching 9.011 bln eur,

reflecting chiefly a 500 mln eur decrease in the current transfers surplus and

growth of the trade and income account deficits, the Bank of Greece said.

Finnish April unemployment 7.2 pct vs 8.6 pct year earlier

HELSINKI (Thomson Financial) - The rate of unemployment in Finland in April

was 7.2 pct, down from 8.6 pct a year earlier, a survey by Statistics Finland

shows

According to the agency, there were 191,000 jobless during the month.

Some 2.456 mln people in the country were in employment, an increase of

72,000 from the same month a year ago.
