IAC names new Media & Advertising chief

NEW YORK (AFX) - Internet conglomerate IAC/InterActiveCorp said Tuesday it appointed Peter Horan chief executive of its IAC Media & Advertising division.

IAC Media & Advertising includes Ask.com, a search engine, Citysearch, a local business directory, plus the company's advertising and portals businesses.

Horan was most recently CEO of AllBusiness.com Inc., a business-oriented content and services Web site. Before that, he served as CEO of About.com, which was sold to The New York Times Co. in 2005.

Shares of IAC rose 16 cents to close at $38 on the Nasdaq.
