Nissan Altima gets hybrid credit |

WASHINGTON (AFX) - U.S. customers interested in purchasing a Nissan Altima this year could get up to $2,350 cash back.The Internal Revenue Service on Tuesday said Nissan North America Inc.'s Altima Hybrid qualifies as a hybrid motor vehicle, meaning customers can get cash back for choosing the Japanese automaker's mid-size energy saving vehicle.Customers can get full credit for a limited time, if they claim it by the end of the first quarter. Taxpayers seeking to get cash back during the second and third calendar quarters will get up to 50 percent of the sum, while consumers delaying claims till the third or fourth quarter will get 25 percent back.American depositary shares of Nissan finished at $23.96 Tuesday on the Nasdaq Stock Market.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
