French minister sees 2007 deficit at 2.5 pct of GDP, up from previous forecast

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - French budget minister Eric Woerth said the public deficit in 2007 should stay at 2.5 pct of GDP, the same level as in 2006 and up from the projection of 2.4 pct made by the previous government that left office last week.

Woerth made the comment in an interview in the daily Les Echos.
