AMSTERDAM (Thomson Financial) - Heineken NV said it intends to appeal against the EU's 219.3 mln eur fine, once full details of the decision become available to it.The Dutch brewer also said the fine, for alleged cartel activities, will be treated as an exceptional item in 2007, and will have no impact on its full-year forecast of 10-13 pct organic growth in net profit. The company said it was surprised by the EU's decision, which it found 'excessive and unjustified,' given the strong arguments it had put forward to the European Commission.Mike Croall, +31-6-41428223, mike.croall@thomson.commc/icCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
