WASHINGTON (AP) - Verizon Communications Inc. hired Bluewater Strategies LLC to lobby the federal government on Internet issues, according to a federal lobbying disclosure form filed Wednesday.The firm said it was hired to lobby on: 'net neutrality,' which is the principle that all Web sites be equally accessible to any Internet user; the universal service fund, which subsidizes telecom services for low income customers and eligible schools and libraries; and the moratorium on taxing Internet access.Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Verizon Wireless, which is owned jointly by Verizon and Vodafone Group PLC, also hired Bluewater to lobby on 700 MHz spectrum and Internet tax moratorium issues, according to a separate disclosure form filed Wednesday.Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches.
