BUCHAREST (AFX) - Saint-Gobain has started production at its new flat glass factory in Calarasi, southern Romania, with annual capacity of 600 tons, of which nearly half will be exported to Central and Eastern Europe.The company has invested 100 mln eur in the site, and plans to invest a further 95 mln to build two additional production lines, one for automobile windshields and another for thermal window treatments, said Olivier Lluansi, Saint-Gobain's director in Romania, at an inauguration ceremony here.Renault's Dacia unit could end up being the main client for the windshield production, Lluansi added.In March, Saint-Gobain will begin production at a new fibre glass factory in Ploiesti, about 60 km north of Bucharest.paris@afxnews.comafp/js/twCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
