Manchester named as location for UK's first 'supercasino'

LONDON (AFX) - Manchester was today named as the shock location for the UK's first Las Vegas-style 'supercasino'.

Manchester emerged victorious over strong favourites, Greenwich and Blackpool, as well as Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield.

However, industry experts believe the decision is vulnerable to a legal challenge with Blackpool, in particular, thought to have already asked its lawyers to prepare to fight the decision.
