HOUSTON (AFX) - ConocoPhillips said Tuesday it will split its technology and major products organization into two groups, effective Thursday.The integrated oil company said Ryan Lance, currently senior vice president of technology and major projects, will become senior vice president of one group, technology.Luc Messier, currently president and chief executive of Technip USA, will join ConocoPhillips as senior vice president of the other group, project development. His group will oversee engineering, construction and procurement activities.Both Lance and Messier will report to ConocoPhillips Chairman and Chief Executive Jim Mulva.ConocoPhillips shares rose 74 cents to $65.36 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
