MILAN (AFX) - Enel SpA said it will spend a total of around 3.2 bln eur from now to 2013 on energy investments in Slovakia, of which some 2.0 bln will be earmarked for nuclear energy projects. In a meeting with Slovakia's economy minister Lubomir Jahnatek, Enel CEO Fulvio Conti said construction work on the third and fourth units at the Mochovce nuclear plant will begin in the second half of 2007 and will be completed by 2012.In 2006, Enel bought a 66 pct stake in Slovakia's dominant electricity producer Slovenske Elektrarne (SE) for 840 mln eur.At the same time it pledged to spend further money to increase output in the country, including building a nuclear power plant at Mochovce.Other Enel investments in the country will be in power plants fueled by coal and renewable energy sources, Conti said.stephen.jewkes@thomson.comtfn-mil-sj/rfwCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
