China Q1 CPI up 2.7 pct yr-on-yr - statistics bureau

BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China's consumer price index rose 2.7 pct year-on-year in the first quarter, compared with an increase of 1.2 pct for the same period last year, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.

The People's Bank of China, the central bank, previously said it expected the consumer price index to rise 2.35 pct in the first quarter.
