DETROIT (Thomson Financial) - General Motors Corp said it sold a record 2.26 mln cars and trucks worldwide in the first quarter, up 67,000 vehicles or 3 pct compared with the same time last year.The auto maker said its global market share was estimated at 13.0 pct, slightly down on the 13.1 pct seen a year ago.The company said the record sales were driven by exceptionally strong demand in emerging markets.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.comwjCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
