BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - Nokia will introduce TD-SCDMA handsets for commercial use in China in the first half of 2008, a company official said.'The TD-SCDMA handsets will be ready for commercial use in China in the first half of 2008,' Nokia China, communications department director, Thoman Jonsson, told XFN-Asia.He did not provide further details.TD-SCDMA, or time division-synchronous code division multiple access, was chosen in January 2006 as China's homegrown third generation network standard in order to lessen the country's dependence on foreign telecommunications technology.susan.wang@xfn.com
