French Jan-Nov budget deficit 54.87 bln eur vs yr-earlier 58.57 bln deficit

PARIS - France's budget deficit totaled 54.87 bln eur in the first 11 months of 2006, compared with a deficit of 58.57 bln eur a year earlier, the Finance Ministry said.

Revenue fell to 196.28 bln eur from 213.09 bln, and spending fell to 242.21 bln from 268.50 bln.

Treasury operations produced a deficit of 8.94 bln.
