MADRID (Thomson Financial) - Caja de ahorros de Valencia, Castellon y Alicante (Bancaja) has raised its stake in Iberdrola SA to 2.38 pct from 2.27 pct, according to a filing with the London Stock Exchange.Bancaja acquired the 1 mln shares for 35.51-35.57 eur per share.Iberdrola's shares led gains in afternoon trade today, partially because of stake building from its core shareholders who wished to maintain the same control after the utility's 8.615 mln eur capital hike to be listed on April 25.tfn.europemadrid@thomson.comped/lamCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
