LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Cable & Wireless PLC said chairman Richard Lapthorne, finance director Tony Rice and chairman of Europe, Asia & US operations John Pluthero have bought shares between 190-190.2 pence each, raising their respective stakes in the company.Lapthorne bought 500,000 shares at 190 pence each, raising his stake to 3.5 mln shares, while Rice and Pluthero bought 100,000 shares each at 190.20 pence apiece, lifting their stakes to 3.1 mln and 1.16 mln shares respectively in the company.On May 24, Cable & Wireless had emphatically dismissed talk of a takeover bid or early demerger of its international arm from its and European, Asian and US business, but said it would push ahead with its turnaround plan and deliver on its key financial targets by 2010.TFN.newsdesk@thomson.comkkb/tsm/cmrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
