Taiwan's BenQ plans 40 pct capital cut

TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - BenQ Corp (2352.TW) is planning a 40 pct reduction in its paid-in capital, chairman KY Lee said.

The proposal, which is subject to shareholder approval, will raise the company's net worth to about 11.30 twd per share, he said.

In today's trade, BenQ closed up 0.35 twd at 12.90.
