KarstadtQuelle sells French Quelle ops to Germany's Aurelius for undisclosed sum

FRANKFURT (AFX) - German retailer KarstadtQuelle AG said it has agreed to sell its French mail order unit Quelle SAS to the German investment firm Aurelius AG for an undisclosed amount.

Quelle SAS, which also has operations in Spain, employs around 800 staff.

In late November, KarstadtQuelle announced it would sell Quelle's operations in France, Portugal and Spain and close down those in Belgium and the Netherlands in early 2007.
