FRANKFURT (AFX) - MAN AG said its supervisory board has backed efforts by the truck maker's executive board to hold talks about a possible friendly merger with Swedish peer Scania AB and Volkswagen AG's heavy trucks business, after MAN last month withdrew its takeover bid for Scania.In a statement, the supervisory board said it 'supports the wish of the executive board to seek discussions with all involved about a friendly combination of MAN AG, Scania AB and Volkswagen Heavy Trucks'.'The supervisory board also expressed their complete trust in Mr Hakan Samuelsson as CEO and in the entire board' at a board meeting today, it added.newsdesk@afxnews.comjfb/lamCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
