(1888PressRelease) November 27, 2009 - He will continue as Head of Swedish Banking until May 30, 2010 and will on June 1 take up the position as CEO of Landshypotek AB. Kjell Hedman has worked at Swedbank since 1972 and has since 2007 been Head of Swedish Banking. According to current employment contract, he would have left his position at Swedbank at the end of 2010.

- Kjell Hedman has meant a lot to Swedbank for many years. Swedish Banking under Kjell´s management has been stable and delivered very good results. I really want to thank Kjell for his efforts at Swedbank throughout the years and I wish him good luck in his new role. I´m also glad that Kjell will stay on until May next year so that we can take our time to find his successor, a work which we will start immediately, says Michael Wolf, CEO of Swedbank.

- It´s been incredibly interesting to have worked at one of Sweden´s largest organisations for such a long time, and at so many different levels. I now want to pursue other endeavours before I retire, which I now get the possibility to do. This means that I will leave Swedbank seven months earlier than my current employment contract states, says Kjell Hedman.

- I want to send my warm thanks to both staff and customers in Swedbank who, through four decades, have helped me to continuously develop - both in my professional role and on a personal level. Swedish Banking has weathered the recent turbulence very well and it now feels like the right time to move on, continues Kjell Hedman.
