INDEA 2026 Awards Recognize Researchers and Technology Professionals

The INDEA 2026 International Excellence Awards recognized researchers, academicians, and technology professionals working in areas such as data engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, business intelligence, wireless communications, industrial safety, and social impact.

The awards were presented alongside the International Conference on Next-Generation Data Engineering and Analytics, held on August 21–22, 2026. According to the organizers, the program was created to acknowledge research, innovation, professional leadership, and practical contributions across a range of technology-related fields.

The AI and Intelligent Systems Innovation Award was presented to MD Asfaqur Rahman. Tamoghna Das and Vijay Prasad Javvadi received the AI Product Innovation Award, while Abu Hurira was recognized with the AI for Organizational Performance and Decision Intelligence Award. The Business Intelligence Excellence Award went to Janardhana Naidu Kola, and Rakib Hasan received the Data-Driven Decision Making Excellence Award.

Recognition in artificial intelligence and machine learning was awarded to Sundas Iftikhar and Mithun Das under the Excellence in AI and Machine Learning Award category. Nayan Sarker and Goutham Kumar Sheelam received the Excellence in AI-Enabled Next-Generation Wireless and Antenna Technologies Award. The Excellence in Cybersecurity Research Award was presented to Buddha Dev Sarker, while Shahjadi Sultana received the Excellence in Data Science, Analytics and Intelligence recognition.

The awards also included work connected to public safety, critical infrastructure, and community benefit. Adar Chowdhury received the AI for Industrial Safety and Critical Energy Infrastructure Innovation Award, and Sumaiya Sadmeen Misty was recognized with the Technology for Social Impact Award.

The organizers stated that the awards considered factors such as originality, impact, practical relevance, scalability, collaboration, leadership, inclusion, and responsible innovation. These areas reflect the expanding role of technology in improving services, supporting secure infrastructure, strengthening organizational decision-making, and addressing social and industrial challenges.

INDEA 2026 was organized in connection with the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom. The conference and awards brought together members of the international academic and professional community to share research, recognize achievement, and encourage further cooperation in emerging technology fields.

The organizers said the awards are intended to encourage continued research, responsible innovation, and the development of practical solutions that can be applied across institutions, industries, and communities.
